ENCLOSURE IDEATION

I explored how the round forms and playful nature of the game could shape the enclosure. Through sketching, I worked through different layouts and proportions while ensuring the screen, rotary encoder, light, battery, and on/off switch could all fit comfortably within the form.

PROGRAMMING

Using Raspberry Pi Pico 2 and CircuitPython, I developed and refined the game code, adjusting the controls and mechanics to create the intended experience.

PROTOTYPING

I used 3D printing to test and refine the enclosure’s size, proportions, and internal support structure.

I soldered all the components together and tested how everything fit within the enclosure. This helped me refine the internal layout and make sure the electronics were securely positioned and functioned as intended.

COMMUNITY USER TESTING

Along with my classmates, I promoted and participated in a free-play event at a local arcade, where a diverse group of game lovers had the opportunity to try out Bubble Blast. Testing in a real-world setting provided valuable feedback on the gameplay, controls, and overall experience.
